Yin and Yang - why is the combination of CBD oil and THC better?

What is the effect of combining CBD oil with psychoactive THC? Why are recreational marijuana users increasingly opting for CBD oil admixture? And finally, is such a combination actually better? You will find the answers to these and other questions in this article.

CBD oil and marijuana

Before answering these questions, it is worth briefly explaining what CBD oil is and how it differs from marijuana, which contains the psychoactive compound THC in addition to CBD.

CBD oil is a supplement made from cannabis plants that contain less than 0.2 percent psychoactive THC. In Poland, it is legal and used to treat a wide range of diseases or support their treatment. Starting from inflammation, severe pain, to epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, cancer, diabetes or Hashimoto's disease.

CBD oil is completely safe and cannot be overdosed. It is formed from CBD, one of the most health-promoting organic compounds found in the hemp plant.

Marijuana, on the other hand, is one of the most popular stimulants in the world. It is used not only for recreational purposes, but also for medical purposes. However, it is the psychoactive compound THC contained in the cannabis plant that brings the effects of the so-called high and euphoria.

Just a few decades ago, the THC content of marijuana was not as high as it is today. Right now, some cannabis strains even have well over 20 percent THC. The effect is a really strong high, but marijuana users don't realize that this stimulant actually gives them half of the benefits that cannabis plants have to offer.

The synergy of CBD and THC

Hemp plants are a miracle of nature and have been used by thousands of cultures for thousands of years for really many reasons. It's only in the last 50 years that scientists have finally discovered the cannabinoids that are the main components of hemp. Almost everyone knows about the tetrahydrocannabinol THC because it produces mood changes and euphoric effects that make cannabis users feel "high."

However, THC is only one of more than 113 cannabinoids produced by the cannabis plant - and it is the only psychoactive cannabinoid. CBD, on the other hand, is the hemp plant's most health-promoting compound used increasingly and widely in supplementation, treatment and daily diet.

CBD not only has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, but also relieves anxiety. The effect? CBD offsets the overly potent and psychoactive effects of THC. Not everyone who smokes marijuana craves an intense high, denting them in their chair or couch. And that's why admixing CBD oil to the herb makes cannabis use more balanced and even more health-promoting.

In fact, it has been proven by scientists that cannabinoids interact with each other "synergistically" - that is, in a way that enhances their individual effects. This interaction between cannabinoids is what the researchers called the "ambient effect."

Legal CBD, illegal THC

In summary , the combination of CBD and THC produces much better effects from cannabis use. THC gives a feeling of being high because it directly activates cannabinoid receptors, giving both the stunning effects from THC, but also activating many of its therapeutic and medicinal effects.

Regardless, the psychoactive compound THC is illegal in Poland. Therefore, possession of even the smallest amounts of cannabis is still a crime.

Too much THC is also strictly controlled and punished in the case of cannabis crops, from which the completely legal and health-promoting CBD oil is produced. The level of psychoactive THC in industrial hemp crops could not previously exceed 0.2 percent. From the end of 2020, under new EU regulations, the permissible THC limit is 0.3 percent.
